If you are looking for a fishing kayak for you and your family or friends, but want something with even more room than a tandem kayak, then the UH-TK219 from Brooklyn Kayak Company is what you want. This sizable kayak can accommodate can accommodate anywhere from one to three people with ease and doesn’t feel as cramped as you would expect under such conditions. It has a hull length of 12'3” and weighs only 70lbs, but has a maximum load capacity of up to 440 lbs. This means that the kayak won’t be a struggle to control even if you take it out alone. Even better, thanks to its 34-inch beam, it has great balance and can provide you with excellent stability even if the water gets choppy or you end up in swift currents.

It might be able to accommodate three people, but the UH-TK219 is still a fishing kayak, so it comes with all the other features that you would expect. This includes an impressive six rod holders, four of which are flush mount and two that are adjustable. Stashing away your valuables isn’t an issue either as this kayak has two watertight storage hatches. You’ll find one of the hatches at the front of the kayak, while the other is at the back. For larger gear the UH-TK219 has a large cargo area at the stern. This area also has bungee tie-down straps to ensure that your larger gear remains secure. Another nice feature of this kayak is the paddle rests that can be used to secure your paddles to the hull. These are rather sturdy and won’t result in a lost paddle even if you are fishing in rough water.

Despite its size, the UH-TK219 can easily be transported by a pair of adults thanks to the four carrying handles. If you are on your own, it will be a little harder to carry, but not impossible. A lot of anglers are not too fond of tandem kayaks, so a kayak that can seat up to three people is a bit of a niche market. Nevertheless, if you enjoy spending time on the water with friends or family who don’t own their own kayaks then this is a great way to do so. It is definitely not aimed at solo anglers, but definitely serves a useful purpose.
