Lots of double-seater sit-on-top kayaks can become a little unwieldy, or even unusable if you want to go for a solo fishing excursion, but not the Borneo from Bicsports. This double-seater was specifically designed to function well as a two-person kayak, but to also retain its functionality if you want to paddle alone. It is a great design for anglers who want to go on solo trips as well as occasionally take the family out on the water as the Borneo can comfortable hold two adults as well as a small child. In addition, it has plenty of space left over to take along some baggage as well.

The Borneo measures in at 13'5”, 33” wide and features the BICsports triple hull design shape to ensure excellent glide and even better maneuverability. This is great for occasions where you only have one person paddling along with a passenger. Of course, the Borneo is also a very stable kayak, making it a nice fishing platform. The seating arrangement of the Borneo is quite interesting as it has a central seat for solo passengers as well as front and rear seats for two passengers. This central seat can then be used for a child if the front and rear seats are used by adults. Fishing equipment can be stowed away in the easy-access central hatch, which is also watertight. The kayak also has enough space in the rear for storage and this area has integral elasticated straps to keep things secure. Since this is a fishing kayak, it also comes with a double rod rack at the rear.

At about 76 pounds, the Borneo fishing can still be carried by one person, but ideally you need two. The integral rollers make it easier for a single person to get the kayak from your vehicle to the water, but don’t worry as these can be removed and stowed away in their own storage hatch so that they don’t interfere while you are paddling. It has all the standard features that you’ll find on most BICsports kayaks, such as ergonomic anti-slip seats, integral survival lines and replaceable, removable rear protector and forward stem reinforcement.

The Borneo has pre-moulded mountings if you want to add additional forward rod racks as well as pre-moulded mountings for adding an optional rudder. If you are a solo angler then you can probably find better fishing kayaks in the same price range as the Borneo, but if you have a family who regularly wants to join you on the water then this is a good investment.
