Native Watercraft "Versa Board Angler"

Kayak Make & Model

Brand:
Native Watercraft
Model:
Versa Board Angler
MSRP ($):
799.00
Length (ft):
12

The Versa Board Angler is a hybrid paddleboard/kayak, but if you prefer something more comfortable than the seat that is molded into the hull you can fit it out with an optional kayak seat that is sold separately. The board features extra built-in volume to improve stability, which means you can retain your footing while stalking, casting and fighting the fish. This board has a factory rigged central Groove Track and a spring-loaded drop skeg. Although it lacks integrated rod holders, these can be added easily thanks to the mounting rails. The stability of this board makes it a good choice for slower rivers or flat water. In addition, the board features a molded stern handle, padded bow handle and paddle holder clip. Bungees on the bow and stern of the ship provide you with storage options on the deck for added convenience. The rear wheel and padded bow handle makeĀ it very easy to transport, although it should be noted that it works much better on hard surfaces than soft ones.

Versa Bord Disappointed

I bought this boat about a month ago and have had it on the water a half dozen times. What originally attracted me to this model was the weight and the ability to stand. The best feature is it's stability, rock solid. Unfortunately it also paddles like a rock. You will not want to go far paddling this boat. It is also a very wet ride. The seat that is sold as an option ($150+) will have you setting in a puddle of water. Any water that gets in the boat is hard to get out. Also the hull is leaking and by the end of the day there is about a gallon of water in it. The wheel is nice for parking lots. I have owned 4 other kayaks and none were perfect but this is just an awful boat. Don't waste your money. I'm already looking for a new kayak.

Pros & Cons

Pros:
Wheel, Stability
Cons:
Slow, wet ride, hull leaks
