There has never been a better time to be a kayak angler thanks to all the advances that have been made in kayaks as well as gear. However, even with all the high-tech gadgets at your disposal, there is still something very satisfying about using something as timeless as a soft plastic lure to catch your fish.

Of course, even lures have improved a lot and this Wounded Rattle Shad Soft Plastic Lure Collection from Nextgen Baits Inc is a great example of how far they've come. Nextgen Baits sent us some samples and we are happy to share our impressions.

The most noticeable thing about these lures is just how lifelike they look. In fact, the new HD coloring process that NextGen Baits have used for the lures looks good enough to even fool other anglers from a distance, so fish don't have a chance. The Wounded Rattle Shad soft plastic lure is available in two different models, as well as three different sizes, so there is one for the job no matter what type of trophy fish you want to land.

The available options are the 7" Original Wounded Rattle Shad, 7" Wounded Rattle Shad "SX", 5.5" Wounded Rattle Shad and 4" Wounded Rattle Shad. What makes the 7" and 5.5" models particularly interesting is the patent pending rattle technology that they use. This feature was developed by Greg Myerson, a man who knows a thing or two about angling judging by the multiple world records for Striped bass that he holds. What the rattle does is mimic the sounds of aquatic life, which helps to further lure predatory fish in for the catch. These lures are great for catching anything form Largemount Bass to Norther Pike, Lake Trout, Striped Bass, Red Fish and anything in between.

The lures in the collection all have a very high quality look and feel to them, which make them an enticing option, especially considering the reasonable price. All of them comes with the appropriate hook included, although some are unweighted and require you to add weight as needed.

According to Nextgen Baits, these lures are the product of countless hours spent fishing and testing in order to come up with a design that is irresistible to fish. The results definitely speak for themselves as the lures offer a great combination of realistic looks, authentic sounds and lifelike movement that can really help to improve your odds.
