Many people customize their lures after they buy them. They swap out the hooks, rings, and even do some paint work to make it what they want. Whether you like to tinker with your baits or not, if you want something customized for your area and target species check out Kentucky-based Beaver Creek Custom Lures. They hand air brush and paint crankbaits to meet your specific needs.

I challenged the Beaver Creek staff to make me a crankbait that looks like a pumpkinseed, a common fish in the Great Lakes area. I emailed the name of the fish and pictures so they could have something to base it on. Shortly after I laid down my challenge, they accepted, did some more research, and had the lure to me within a week! When I opened the package, this is what I found.

An amazing looking lure! The paint job is perfect, and it is evident that there was focus on the detail. It is a 2.5”rattle crank with a square bill - perfect to attract those big bass! These are the pictures I sent and pictures of the lure.

If you are in the market for a lure, customized or not, Beaver Creek Custom Lures will not disappoint you. All the contact I had with them has been very professional and the service and shipping were amazing. I have found my go to lure store! It also helps that the owner/painter of the cranks is a fellow kayak angler. Check out and like their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/BeaverCreekCustomLures. They do not have website up yet, but you can check out their baits and order through Facebook . Just send them a message with your request! The baits range from $7 and up, but many are between $7-$15. For those anglers who wish to have a certain style hook setup, they will do that for you too! Just add that information to your order details, and you are good to go.
