Bullfrog Baits recently came out with the “Twig Worm”, a style plastic worm targeted specifically for the wacky worm rig. The big feature that attracted me to this bait is that you can have it with an O-ring poured into the bait, put on the outside, or not have it at all. They come in 4" or 5.75" long styles with a choice of many scents and 14 different color patterns.
One of my fishing buddies and I have a coffee addiction, almost as big as kayak fishing, and have always talked about dipping our baits in our coffee to attract fish. However, since neither of us is willing to do that, having the coffee scent infused in the baits by Bullfrog is perfect! With me being the coffee fanatic, I ordered the 5.75" espresso-colored and coffee-scented baits with the O-ring poured in.
I have also read and heard great things about the Bullfrog “Lil' Tubes”, and thought I would give them a shot. The tubes come in a variety of colors and scents. One of my favorite things about Bullfrog Baits is that they will do any custom coloring on their baits for you - all you need to do is ask! I ended up ordering the watermelon tubes, again with a coffee scent.
The Twig Worms have a great color, feeling, and most importantly fantastic action! The O-ring is perfectly centered, and will keep the bait lasting much longer without losing any action. Did I mention that the scent is great? I can't go wrong with espresso colored worms with a coffee scent!
I have never fished with tube style baits before and am eagerly anticipating using them. I have been looking, feeling, and testing them out in a sink , and they have a great motion. I am sure the fish will go crazy going after the watermelon tubes!
After I placed the order, it only took five days to receive them - and that was with the postal service off two days in a row! Throughout the process I was kept informed of the status of my order! Excellent service and excellent baits!
Even though it is winter up here in Wisconsin and almost everything is ice, I couldn't wait to check them out. I was so excited when I got the package and had to take a look right away. Now I just have to wait for the subzero temperatures to disappear and ice on the lakes and rivers to melt away!
