Even with a safety flag attached, I have always worried someone (not paying attention) would make my Cuda a little shorter, especially in low light hours. In my past life, I was a fabricator by trade. Luckily, I still have access to the shop that I worked at; I’m able to play around with some ideas I have.
Most states have laws that govern the amount a load can extend from your vehicle before it requires some type of “display.” A display can either be lights or a safety flag.
To ease my anxiety and to make it easier to load and unload, I built this bed extender. I think it satisfies most, if not all, laws. No… I haven't researched every law on the books. I’m sure there is an LEO out there willing to prove otherwise.
Anyway, I hope it gives you some ideas. Now, let’s go fishing!

I was trying to rate your article with the bed extender with 5 stars but hit 2 stars by accident. I left a message with a moderator to see if he could correct the rating. I think your work and idea is excellent and I apologize for my mistake.
