Kayak Wars started this month and is in full force in many parts of the country.  However, many of us, myself included, are froze out!  With 30+ inches of ice on the lakes and only one spot with moving water that is partially open it will be awhile before I get out.  What to do until then?  Get some friendly competition and smack talking between Kayak War teams of course!  When forming my team and selecting a name we decided to represent our favorite kayak fishing resource YakAngler, by calling ourselves the YakAngler Outlaws.  Well once we made this announcement there was some excitement from other YakAngler.com members and wanted to create another team called the YakAngler Bounty Hunters.  Of course, we had to have fun with this, so we created a facebook group where the Outlaws and Bounty Hunters are having some fun competitions and doing some friendly smack talking.  But since most of the team members are froze out and just dreaming of catching some nice catches we got to have fun and think of ways to show off our team.  The first thing that came to our mind was shirts!  With the wicked logos that Raf, one of my team members, made up we couldn't just keep it to ourselves.  So here is your chance to get some sweet YakAngler Outlaw and the Bounty Hunter swag.  You can get your YakAngler Outlaw or Bounty Hunter UPF50 Performance shirt in white or gray from Reel Life on white or gray. Enter the following coupon code: KAYAKWARS2014 and also receive an 11" sticker with the shirt; all for $29.99 (a total value of $49.48 This is a great deal and a great price for a Performance shirt and an awesome logo/team.) Visit http://www.reellifegear.com/ to order your new swag.

To keep up with the YakAngler teams competition check them out on Facebook or check out the Forum post "YakAngler Outlaws Kayak Wars"!  If you are competing, good luck and tight lines!

Spencer Jones

Although starting to kayak fish in the summer of 2012 Spencer has fished since he was a kid.  He fishes everything from small creeks to large lakes mainly targeting large and smallmouth bass, northerns, and anything he can convince to bite the hook.  When he is not on the water he teaches choir at a middle and high school and teaches private piano lessons, and composes music. Spencer also loves working out and helping folks get healthy and fit!  He lives in Neenah with his lovely wife, 2 dogs, and 4 cats.
