Sometimes the simpler things, or what we may think are simpler things, can be the hardest. At least in this case, I felt it was a lot more difficult than it should be. I bought a Yakima roof rack system for my car. I thought it wouldn't be as difficult to install as it was. I also had the plan to buy some different mounting clips and just transfer the bars to my truck when I wanted to use it instead of my car. That idea is now out the window for sure. I will be purchasing another set of bars and towers for it after this experience.
I tried for several minutes to get things mounted to this roof and in a position that would be just right for my Yaks. After 30 minutes, i realized two things, this wasn't going according to plan, and I wish I would have looked up installation on my phone or received instructions with the used equipment. Being a guy I know the guy code is to just do it without the instructions, but I welcomed them at this point.
So after an hour and a half, I finally finished the installation and was happy with the sturdiness of the mount. Not looking forward to a second round, which is why I'm guessing, I see all these cars with roof racks always on top of the car.
