Once I started casting the game was on and landing a fish in a kayak for the first time was like trying to grab a wet bar of soap! It was so fun I had to go out again and again, and of course, again! I was addicted on my first trip. I didn't have a net, crate, extra rods, lure boxes, camera, sonar, gps, cell phone, or any other type of gadgets readily available on today's yaks. It was just me and the water. I know that it is exciting to purchase that first fishing kayak and load it up with accessories. That's okay to an extent. I would suggest just trying it out with the basic arsenal of a fishing rod and a box of your favorite tackle and enjoy the scenery. Instead of eyes glued to that sonar unit will you see the reason why you are really out there, relaxation, peace, and "therapy for the soul!"
