I would like to suggest the thought about attending the 2013 Fly Fishing Film Tour presented by Costa and your local Fly Shop or Tackle Shop. Last year the tour stopped at 110 different locations in the United States and Canada. The tour had a 40 percent growth in attendance of which 26 percent were females. The event includes many pre-event parties at local shops, which gave people new to the sport the opportunity to learn about fly fishing and what local opportunities there are. Of the 110 locations 26 were sold out. One of these areas was Charleston, SC.
Hundreds of thousands of dollars were raised this year for local conservation groups and charities.
Trout Unlimited is at the forefront inspiring local TU chapters to host shows as a fundraising opportunity for their local communities and organizations such as Rivers of Recovery were able to use the event as a charity fund raising opportunity where the event raised over $70,000 and will be able to sponsor 35 local combat disabled veterans to participate in the Rivers of Recovery experience.
Over $125,000 was raised thought the F3T for conservation and charitable organizations. WOW!!!!
The first event is located in Denver, CO on January 26th, De Pere, WI on February 4th, Charleston, SC on March 2nd, March 8th in Knoxville, KY, etc. If you are interested attending one of these shows check out their web site at www.THEF3T.com for the complete list.
Hopefully I will see you at the one at the Terrace Theater in Charleston…I will be attending the 8:00 PM showing.
