After reviewing the site traffic and click through rates and talking to some of our users I realized that an improvement to site navigation was needed. We have a ton of great information on this YakAngler and I want to make it as easy as possible for everyone to find what they are looking for.

I decided to make on change to the main menu, adding a tab specifically for submitting articles. We had some users and even staff “I won’t call you out by name ;-)” have issues navigating to it under the resources tab. Hopefully this helps out everyone who wants to contribute content to the site.

I also added a new menu that highlights some of the top topics searched on the site. This “Guest Menu” is only available to users who are not logged in. It’s mainly to help new users of YakAngler find our top content quickly. When you log you’ll notice the “Guest Menu” will disappear and the normal “User Menu” will take its place, allowing registered users to quickly access their profile, forum settings, and more like before.

Hopefully this makes navigating the site a little easier for everyone, if anyone has comments or concerns please post them in the comments below.
