On Friday, February 17, kayak anglers from around the country will descend on a little island in the Everglades. Now in its second year, the popular three-day weekend kayak fishing event is a joint venture of KayakFishingRadio.com and YakAngler.com. The get-together offers kayak anglers the opportunity to meet up and fish, and to share tips and techniques with like-minded individuals.

Weekend events:

Friday Night:

  • Morning:  Safety brief, organized by Chip Gibson
  • Another day of fishing the areas around Chokoloskee Island Park, or the option to fish for Peacock Bass with Bob Bramblet and others from SWFKAA. Florida freshwater license  required. Check here for license requirements and to purchase online.
  • Evening: “Low Country Boil” and raffle at Chokoloskee Island Park Pavilion

  • The majority of anglers pack up.

This is great. Lots of pictures to show us what we're missing. Thank you. It's what I asked for. Keep 'em coming.
