This was from a trip last fall to the Okefenokee swamp. My friend Robert and his son Jacob were paddling in front of me and flushed a big gator out of the lily pads. I told him we were just passin' through and had no plans on staying for supper! If you have never paddled the swamp, do yourself a favor and go. It is by far one of the most beautiful places I have ever paddled.

I visited Okefenokee a couple times when I was teenager with my parents and cruised the swamp in a small rental Jon boat. I never paddled through it in a yak, not sure I want to either.
