I’ve been using the standalone Mighty Mount for three months now and I could finish this review in three words, Simple, Functional, and Versatile. I probably should have said four words because it’s also very affordable at $8.00 or $10.00 with hardware.

Simple.
I easily attached it with the provided hardware, the mount on its own has a very low profile so you don’t have to worry about raking your knuckles across it while paddling or snagging your line on it while fishing.
Functional.
The Mighty Mount provided a solid easily swappable mounting surface for all the compatible accessories. I easily swapped between the PanFish and VISICarbon ProT with just a few turns of the accessory while on the water.
Versatile.
Add the Mighty Mount anywhere you need a RAM component, Scotty component (only works with track systems see below for details), PanFish, or VISICarbon ProT. When your accessories are not needed they unscrew and slide out of the mount, leaving a virtually snag free surface.
Negatives.
Honestly the only negative I could find about the standalone Mighty Mount is they will not work with a Scotty mount with the provided mounting hardware. The head of the bolts sit too high for the thumb screws to catch. You would have to buy flat head screws for the Mighty Mount and counter sink them for everything to fit flush.
In summary, the YakAttack Mighty Mount is an extremely versatile mount for any fishing kayak, allowing you to add and remove accessories on the fly. You can bet I’ll have a few more Mighty Mounts on my Kayak Fishing Christmas list this year.
