As you have recently read here on YakAngler.com, four U.S. kayak anglers participated in the Hobie Kayak Fishing World Championships held in Australia. We here at YakAngler are so pleased to be part of this kayak fishing sport that is taking not only a national stage but playing in an international arena. I recieved this press release from a Hobie spokesperson earlier today and I just had to share. I hope that you enjoy reading it as much as I did.
Cruising through the forum last night on YakAngler.com I read through a topic titled “What length stake out pole”. There are some great post in there and some great products mentioned, a few that we have done articles on in the past.
I was recently sent a sample from Magnetic Marine Products. The Gear Grabbar is a device that consists of a series of magnets and attaches to the side of a water craft either by screwing the unit to the watercraft or by using the sticky tabs included with the Gear Grabber unit.
As you have probably noticed, I have been trying to work through the rather large list of products that I checked out at ICAST. This Product Profile is about the Rex Rip Weedless Frog from Revere Maxx-Fishing., an artificial frog unlike any other.
ICAST this year showcased some pretty cool new products utilizing technology never seen before in the fishing industry. As a kayak angler I was very excited to check out some of the new rods and reels coming to the market soon. Daiwa has created a revolutionary new product called the T3 Baitcasting Reels. These reels utilize a new T-Wing and Magforce 3D system, which promise to create longer casting opportunities with a more advanced backlash control.
For Immediate Release - Professional Kayak Angler and entrepreneur Drew Gregory will be featured on Discovery Channel's When Animals Bite Back program on Sunday, May 22, at 8 PM ET (re-airs at 11 PM). Gregory's now famous "Goose Attack" video, which went viral last year, will be one of the highlighted clips on the show.
In many areas of the Midwest, kayak anglers are getting after the walleyes in rivers. It's a springtime ritual. Those anglers are catching some walleyes, but they're also catching good numbers of northern pike if they're on a river that is home to pike. There's a reason for that: Northern pike are susceptible to a kayak angler's presentation this time of year. If an angler were to concentrate on catching northerns, that angler could find some fast fishing for northern pike, and some of them will be of trophy size. Here's how you can take advantage of this under-explored fishing opportunity.
Many of you YakAnglers have seen some of Brian Klawitter's underwater footage of fish in their natural environment. Klawitter owns and operates Klawitter's Trophy Catfish and Sturgeion Adventures on the upper Mississippi. Taking video footage using a Marcum 825c under water camera Brian Klawitter has captured some amazing and clear video of winter catfish, bass, and sturgeon. For those fo you kayak anglers that haven't seen Brian's videos, just hit the read more button.
