So saltwater assassin has for a long time been one of my favorite baits as many of you know.
This year they introduced a few new colors to their line up and over the course of the next few weeks I will be doing field testing on the different colors and writing reviews on them.
The first one I will be doing is on a sea shad by the name of Copper Juice, the moment I saw it I had to try it. The action is the same as any of their other sea shads but the color is one of the best I have seen for fishing my area here in Central Florida. I tend to fish in and around the grass on the flats and Copper Juice stands out just enough to catch the attention of redfish and seatrout. With a green belly and kind of a cream colored back with copper, black, and red flake inside the sun picks up on the flake and allows it to catch just enough light to make it sparkle.

The first time I had this bait out it preformed way above me expectations netting me four redfish and a half a dozen trout and a mystery fish that broke me of after getting me into the mangroves, I rigged this bait on a 3/0 1/32oz mission fishin jerk bait hook on 12lb leader tied right to 10lb braid. The sea shad has plenty of weight to be able to cast it a mile.
With an average price of $4.59 for a 10ct bag, line of assassin lures is still a great value for the money, and with almost everything made overseas, saltwater assassin and bass assassin haven’t jumped ship and are still made here in the U.S.A. in good old Mayo Florida.
