Review: Kodak EasyShare Sport

Written by Gregg Crisp

While kayak fishing last year, I “discovered” that my camera did not float. I needed a camera quickly for an upcoming tournament, and at the time did not have $300 to buy another high-end waterproof camera. After doing some research and talking to some friends, I decided to order the $65 Kodak “EasyShare Sport”. A few days later, an Amazon.com box was waiting for me at home after work.

Review: Standard Horizon HX751 Radio

Written by Gregg Crisp

After reading Isaac Miller’s review of the Uniden “Atlantis” VHF marine radio, I decided to share my dramatically different experience with my Standard Horizon HX751. I purchased my radio two seasons ago for around $150. It has accompanied me nearly every time I have ventured out on my kayak. I consider a VHF radio an important part of my safety equipment and although I have not yet had to use it in an emergency, I do feel good knowing it is there and having confidence it will work.

Review: Uniden Atlantis VHF Marine Radio

Written by Isaac Miller

When you're on the water, other boats can present hazards for kayak fisherman.  They can also be a lifeline.  Cell phones are great when you find yourself in a hairy situation, but they don't always work.  That's where the VHF radio comes in.  It allows for on-the-water communication with other boats on the water, the Coast Guard, and you can also get weather information in case you don't notice the storm moving in on your location.

Review: Kayak Kevin and his DVD's

Written by Rob DeVore

Something you may not know about me is that I’m a bit of an amateur movie critic. I abhor going to the theater – $12 bucks to get in – $10 bucks for a bottle of water and a popcorn – having kids sit next to you while  texting the entire time, only to be subjected to a horrible film, is very disagreeable to me on so many levels.
