I hate the cold! I have lived most of my life in places that snow is something to expect. This doesn’t mean I have adapted or even like it. That said, I am not the most eager to fish when the love of my life has an interest in fishing in anything below 70° F. This weekend I had the opportunity to try out some gear from Kokatat. I went to a lake and it was 52°F and breezy. I wouldn’t call it the most inviting weather forecast. Never the less, I didn’t have any valid reason to say no.
I know that this isn’t the topic of conversation at every social gathering but... Being an outdoors kind of woman and being in the military I am envious of how convenient it is for a man to just pee. They don’t have to expose themselves to their knees or further. Then they don’t squat and hope that there isn’t a curious insect wanting to investigate this hovering fleshy mass. The whole process takes perhaps two min's for a guy with minimal coverage required due to the total lack of exposure and maintaining an upright posture...
I have noticed that the world of fishing although somewhat accommodating doesn’t host as many selections for women’s gear as it does for males. That said I am not naive to the fact that it is a male dominated recreation. None the less, I do enjoy fishing. I have learned to adjust. For example, I now know what size shoe I wear in men’s. Men have a wider selection in everything fishing. This is also the case when it comes to personal floatation devices.
I walked into the house last night to the wonderful smell of garlic, onion and Parmesan. Samantha was making what she had originally envisioned as adult fish sticks. The cod turned out great; although it looked nothing like fish sticks they were perfect. Give this 1samantha2know original a try and you will not be disappointed.
It was to be the day of my first fishing excursion from a kayak. I went with my boyfriend, Mark “YakSushi”, and some friends of ours, Jami and Geno. I had not kayaked since I was an adolescent and my foot was broken. It may as well have been my first time. We began the day at Canoe Kentucky. They allow you to demo any of their canoes and kayaks. Mark thought it would be a good idea for me to demo one just to see variations in kayaks.
