Review: Malibu "Ranger 15"

I received the Ranger 15 just last week, and it was with great anticipation. I was intrigued with the first glimpses of the kayak and wondered how it would handle. Coming in a single seat (15.1) and tandem models (15.2), the Ranger 15 is Malibu’s entry into the hybrid kayak market.

Review: NuCanoe Frontier 12 (Pre Production)

Four months ago Blake Young showed us the concept drawing of a new kayak model for NuCanoe. From what I saw it seemed like all the shortcoming of the original NuCanoe had been addressed. Earlier this month we were informed the first kayaks had been completed and were headed to Kentucky. This weekend the YakAngler crew was able to put the yak through its paces like any true kayak fisherman would. I have two words for NuCanoe, Freakin Awesome!

Review: Malibu Stealth 12

There has always been a big debate among kayak anglers about which kayak is the best. Actually, there isn’t just one, perfect kayak that will perform well in EVERY situation that you might face. It all boils down to what’s important to the individual who will be paddling this floating piece of plastic. Review: Native Ultimate 14.5

Choosing a kayak can be difficult because there are so many from which to choose. And they come in all sizes, shapes and colors. If you’re an angler, then you can eliminate most cruising kayaks and most sit inside vessels.  You’ll probably want to look at sit-on-tops (SOT) and/or hybrids that are made with anglers in mind.
