As the year comes to a close, I decided to sit back and take a look at the year that was 2011. The year really started in the last few months of 2010 for me when I really started to get involved in on-line fishing forums, especially YakAngler.com. This led me to launch YakFish.net with the help of YakSushi Media in January.
With ICAST coming up next month, I've been checking out the exhibitor list and previous years top products. I came across the Triggerfish by Think Tank Lures and just thought that I would share.
Have you ever wanted to settle that debate with your buddy about best kayak or kayaking product? Do you know of a kayak fishing product that you think deserves to be recognized? Well now you’ll have a chance to cast your vote for your favorites!
KayakFishingRadio has grown over the past few months and we look for more growth and development in our broadcasts in the near future! I want to first give my thanks to the anglers who listen and download the broadcasts for the support and interest that is really important to me and the other Hosts of KayakFishingRadio! Thanks also to YakAnglers Mark and Adam are really great friends, and without whom I probably wouldn’t have got the spark that ignited KFR!
I know it seems crazy to sojourn across the state of Florida, lose out on sleep, sustain yourself on trail mix and those little peanut butter crackers just to get together with good friends and chase fish around in little plastic boats.
But, whoever thinks it’s crazy to do such things, hasn’t had the opportunity to fish Mosquito Lagoon with two of the best kayak fishing guides on the east coast of Florida.
In the movie business, if a studio releases a blockbuster movie, you can bet the house that a sequel is being planned before the movie ends its run in the theater, because the sequel is going to bring in dividends 40-60 percent of the original, and in that line of work, that’s pretty good business.
Well, the same goes for fishing trips with the Yakangler/Kayak Fishing Radio Crew. Before you could get the mud washed off your kayak and your gear put away after our triumphant return from Mosquito Lagoon during the Presidents Day Boondoggle, another trip to “The ‘goon” was being planned.
They say 3:00 AM comes early but, they must have never fished at Mosquito Lagoon….
Chip woke me at 3:00 AM. We had loaded up all of our kayaks and gear the night before. I was sleeping in the clothes I was going to wear anyway, so all I had to do was roll out of bed, make a run to the bathroom, and brush my teeth.
I’m not sure where to start this post – so many great things happened in such a short period of time that I’m still trying to process it all. My body aches from back to back dawn to dusk fishing/paddling trips, my hands hurt from catching so many fish, and my mind is befuddled by lack of sleep and eating….but who needs food and sleep when there’s fishing to be done?
As I’m waiting for the weather to get warmer and pulling out my chest hair in anticipation for the yakangler.com Presidents Day Camping/Fishing Boondoggle, I’m happy to announce that the Kayak Fishing Radio Network has put together a team for this years Kayak Wars competition.
