Well, unless you’ve been living under a rock, or haven’t visited YakAngler.com or KayakFishingRadio, you should have heard about the “Chokoloskee Boondoggle”.
Thursday's show started with the building excitement of the upcoming BoonDoggle! I've received some inquiries from folks for more information and hopefully that means we'll be seeing more of you at ChuckTown! The basics are these: we arrive on Friday the 7th, some of us are fishing the RedFish Shootout to support Heros on the Water so we have a Captain's meeting that evening at 1830.
The Thursday Night show was a mish-mash of sea stories and giggling from what I like to call the Buzzards Roost!
Bill "Heywood" Howard has joined the pro staff team for FINS Premium Superlines, wtg Bill! That's a clebrity filled crew with the likes of Stu Apte and Blair Wiggins!
We're chattin up the BOONDOGGLE! Two weeks to go and we're on the road to ChuckTown! Check out the event here on YakAngler!
KayakFishingRadio has grown over the past few months and we look for more growth and development in our broadcasts in the near future! I want to first give my thanks to the anglers who listen and download the broadcasts for the support and interest that is really important to me and the other Hosts of KayakFishingRadio! Thanks also to YakAnglers Mark and Adam are really great friends, and without whom I probably wouldn’t have got the spark that ignited KFR!
I purchased my Skwoosh Pro Angler Seat almost a year ago (March 2010) from Austin Kayak. It listed then for $135.00, but with some cool discounts I got it for just under $115.00 with shipping. It now lists for $119.00 on the Skwoosh website without shipping or handling.
Our great sport has really taken off in the past few years, there are a ton of great websites and magazines with answers to almost any question you might have. Recently we had TV shows and videos dedicated to the sport of kayak fishing, but with all these media outlets what were we missing? One of the oldest forms of entertainment radio… Kayak Fishing Radio to be exact.
Chip Gibson or Treehugger as he’s known on the kayak fishing interwebs is the creator of Kayak Fishing Radio. When Chip first mentioned wanting to put a radio show together about kayak fishing, I thought it was something our sport was lacking. Kayak Fishing Radio recently went live for the first time last month so I thought we should talk to Chip now before he get too famous. Here is how it went…
So after a very long day of driving and fishing on Thursday (six + hours of driving as a matter of fact) we had yet another 3:30 AM wake up on Friday. First steps for me were directly to the coffee pot, then out the door to grab my rods and load’em in the van.
Our Florida trip started with us landing in Tampa around 5:00 PM on Tuesday July 13, 2010 after being delayed a bit out of Louisville, KY. I quickly caught the shuttle to National Rental Car where I was lucky enough to get a minivan with a roof rack for the same price as my full size rental.
