How To Lose A Launch

I just don't get people...In mid February, I took a short outing to one of my “go-to” spots. It's an out-of-the-way place, and not really considered one of the "best" places to leave a vehicle. I've never had any problems, though. The fishing is good, and I accept the risk that goes along with launching there. There are, of course, regulars that I see often. There is also the crowd that I wish would never even show up. If you paddle upriver about two miles, there are some really nice houses in a country club that's built along the river. I catch some of my largest fish there.

Help!

Normally I try to avoid anything that might make my readers feel like they have to choose sides. But this time, I have decided to throw down the gauntlet. If I lose followers because of it, then so be it. I feel like if we don't do something, we're going to lose what is quite possibly the most important fish in the Chesapeake Bay, which in turn will affect fishing all along the entire east coast.

A Box Life?

Today I came home to a pair of Columbia Drainmakers anxiously waiting to be opened on my front porch. Snatching them up as I walked into the house I didn’t pay any attention to the card board box they were shipped in. It’s a box; it doesn’t have a story… Right?

Kayak Fishing: The Dark Side

As kayak anglers I feel that it is our responsibility to help conserve the areas in which we fish.  This includes the wildlife affected by our activities on the water.   So as the New Year approaches I wanted to encourage you to make a New Years Resolution to will help the wildlife that we affect.

WARNING, SOME OF THE IMAGES IN THIS ARTICLE ARE GRAFIC AND VERY SAD.
