If you have ever spent time trying to figure out exactly where you wanted to mount that new rod holder, hemmed-and-hawwed over exactly where to put it, you might need it in front of you one day, on one side or the other the next, or maybe even not at all. Perhaps you spend some time fly fishing and have a fly rod holder on your kayak, only to need it to be a conventional rod holder the next day. Maybe you just really want to move it a few inches forward to be out of your way, or move it a couple inches closer to you for a quicker reach when a fish is on the bite. The GearTrac is the ultimate answer.
The GearTrac makes use of the Mighty Mount system YakAttack launched earlier in the year. Positioning rails around your kayak allows you to quickly and easily setup and tear down accessories on your kayak. When not in use, the low profile of the GearTrac keeps it out of the way. With just a quick twist of a RAM ball mount, VisiPole, PanFish, or wing nut on a Mighty Mount, you can slide your accessory closer to you, further from you, or even to a different rail on the kayak. The possibilities are really endless.
At Outdoor Retailer this month, YakAttack brought along a fully rigged Diablo Adios. The kayak was rigged with a Lowrance fish finder, three camera mounts, Carbon Pro, fly rod holder, RAM Revolution rod holder, Scotty rod holder, and a RAM mount with a GearTrac on TOP featuring a RAM ball and PanFish camera mount. Rigged out like this, it would be difficult to fish from, but the kayak really showed what you could do with YakAttack's new GearTrac and Mighty Mount accessories. Best part: the whole thing could be torn down and stored away in just minutes. All accessories attached to the GearTracs took just a twist or two to release and move. The Mighty Mounts, being thicker, took a few more turns, but were just as easily changed.
Attached with rivets or self tapping screws, the GearTrac is exceptionally strong. It lays flat on the kayak on just a dab of silicon will create an excellent seal
