You want this line on your reels! Why? First, it has no memory. Because this line is so “soft”, packing it tightly onto your reel spool is really easy, and it comes off spinning reels like a rocket! I have added 10 to 20 feet onto my casting distance. On a casting reel, it is like putting a motor on your spool. The line comes off like butter. Its smooth profile is easy on the hands, so when tying knots or “leadering” a fish, it doesn’t tear you up. My fingers used to be full of cuts when I used the original PowerPro, but not with Super 8 Slick. Warning: this line is not for those that haven’t mastered line-to-line connections, or for those that don’t use Palomar knots. I say this because this Super 8 Slick is very slick and if you have issues with your Albright or surgeon’s knot, then “”Practice, practice, practice!”
The available colors are great, too. Blue makes seeing the line in any situation very easy, even at night. Brown is killer in dark water, and absolutely disappears! They have even improved the green to help with its visibility, and fluorescent yellow is always easy on the eyes. Maybe the nicest thing is that there is no “braid squeal” as the line passes over the rollers and through the guides. For those that know that sound, it is like nails on a chalk board. The complete silence of Super 8 Slick is a wonderful thing. Go out and get you some!
