A few months ago Adam and I had a chance to sit down with Blake and Deanna Young. They wanted to get our input about something new in the works at NuCanoe. I immediately knew they hit the nail on the head; but I was sworn to secrecy… Well I can finally let the cat out of the bag!

Last year, the Jackson Kayak's 'Coosa took inland kayak fishing by storm.  An incredibly agile and stable fishing platform that excelled on small rivers, the Coosa still left a little to be desired on larger bodies of water where speed and direction are more desired.  Jackson Kayaks put Drew Gregory back to work and now two new fishing platforms are poised to hit the market.

Northwest River Supply is a name synonomous with extreme river passages here in the North West.  NRS began building inflatable rafts and pontoons in the 1970s and built a brand on unparalleled performance and strength.  At ICAST this year, NRS made its first appearance and uncovered two new excellent fishing platforms.

One of the most popular fishing kayaks just got a little smaller! Yesterday at ICAST Hobie Cat unveiled one of it's new kayaks for 2012, the Revolution 11. Our Associate Editor Isaac "The Nothing" Miller calls it "A good game changer. Faster than the Outback, but in a small size for small bodies of water similar to the Outback." Stay tuned! Hobie said they'd have a 2nd new boat at ICAST this year too!!

Ocean Kayak launches it's newest model kayak this month, the Tetra 10 and 12. The Tetra looks to be a kayak that's at home cruising the lakes or fishing the beach. Ocean Kayak said they were going for a clean comfortable and stable ride. This looks like it could be a great kayak fishing platform!
