As you have recently read here on YakAngler.com, four U.S. kayak anglers participated in the Hobie Kayak Fishing World Championships held in Australia. We here at YakAngler are so pleased to be part of this kayak fishing sport that is taking not only a national stage but playing in an international arena. I recieved this press release from a Hobie spokesperson earlier today and I just had to share. I hope that you enjoy reading it as much as I did.
Aussies take the first annual Diawa Hobie World Kayak Fishing Tournament. It should be no surprise that the Aussies took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in an event held on their home waters what was a surprise was how well Jose Chavez did. Jose led the tournament after the first day of fishing but slipped to 4th by tournaments end. Scott Baker of Mornington Victoria Australia took first being crowned the first Diawa Hobie Kayak Fishing World Champion, Jason Meech took second, and Kevin Winchester took third.
How long have you been kayak fishing, what type of kayak do you fish out of?
