SWFKAA Tournament Results

The Southwest Florida Kayak Angler’s Association “Spring Snook and Redfish Challenge” is in the record books. On May 12, 2012, some of the area’s finest anglers competed in windy conditions for great prizes, including the first place Native Ultimate 12 kayak.

PFTS Mystery Lure Tournament

Sixty two anglers woke up bright and early on November 19th, in eager anticipation of kayak fishing tournament number two in the Paddle-Fishing.com Tournament Series. “The Mystery Lure” has all anglers using the same exact lure or in this case “lures”. This year the Mystery Lure was sponsored by Culpirt Riptide. As each angler signed in, they were handed their lure bag, loaded with an amazing assortment of lures.

The results are in from the 2011 Calusa Blueway kayak fishing tournament. This marked the 6th kayak fishing tournament of the 10-day canoe and kayak festival along the Calusa Blueway Paddling Trail benefiting the Great Calusa Blueway and the Society for Ethical Ecotourism. Of the 44 registered kayak anglers only 10 were able to SLAM “catch a Redfish, Snook, and Seatrout”. Ben Homola of Fort Myers FL took first place with a total of 71.25” winning the grand prize a fully rigged Hobie Pro Angler.

Southern Redfish Classic Championship

A new fishing location, less than favorable weather conditions, and a malfunctioning camera would have been more than enough to take out the average tournament kayak fisherman. With the odds truly stacked against him Bob Bramblet of Bonita Springs Florida soldiered on to maintain his points lead and win the series championship. 2011 TKAA Kayak Fishing Tournament Results

240 Kayak Fisherman from 9 different states converged on Norfolk Virginia this past weekend for the 7th annual Tidewater Kayak Anglers Association Kayak Fishing Tournament. The Kayak Fish for Charity event raised money for Heroes on the Water and Project Healing Waters, both charities help rehabilitate wounded warriors. Only one angler Conner Harrison came in with a SLAM to take home the grand prize a Hobie Kayaks Pro Angler.  See all the kayak fishing tournament finalists below.

Ozello Classic Results 2011

An afternoon storm made fishing tough for kayak anglers in The Ozello Kayak Fishing Classic at Ozello Florida.  But this couldn't stop Brian Sutton from catching the only SLAM, "Redfish & Trout" and taking first place in the 2011 Ozello Classic.  Check out the official press release for all the details.

JBAY 2011 Results

The results from the 2011 Jamaica Bay Kayak Fishing Tournament are in. In the 8th Annual Event 337 anglers competed for the first time ever over 3 days from May 13th to May 15th. The proceeds from the tournament benefit Casting for Recovery.

The results are in from the 2011 Jacksonville Kayak Fishing Classic! This year 406 kayak anglers converged onto Jacksonville Florida to participate in the largest kayak fishing tournament in existence. $33,000.00 was raised benefiting the Down Syndrome Association of Jacksonville and the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation.  Check out the following press release for the tournament details.

LIZELLA, Ga. (March 1, 2011) – Cameron Schurlknight caught a redfish and a speckled sea trout totaling 56.5 inches in combined length to win the season-opening event for the IFA Kayak Fishing Tour Presented by Hobie Fishing, contested February 27 in Punta Gorda, Fla. The event, which operated out of Laishley Marina and Hooter’s of Port Charlotte, was the first of three regular-season events for the tour’s Florida West Coast Division.
