View items...The 2012 Kayak Fishing ClassicS Tournament Series (presented by Diablo Paddlesports) is a 10-event “open to the public” run. Contestants earn points throughout the series based on their catch. The “Southern Redfish Classic” is the series championship, and the series point’s leader at the conclusion of this tournament wins a Diablo Paddlesports kayak. High point scorers qualify for the National Championship invitational tournament in November.
For many of us YakAnglers, this is the time of year when we begin to feed this kayak fishing addiction by attending boat shows, Googling anything related to the sport, and preparing for local and regional tournaments. I wanted to take a moment to share the upcoming schedule for the IFA Kayak Fishing Tour.
The Tampa Bay Chapter of Heroes on the Water held its first event this past Saturday at beautiful Fort Desoto Park, St Petersburg Florida. Our honored guest for the day was Don Floyd and his wife Donna. Don retired from the US Army in 1999. He saw one of our flyers at the VA and decided to give us a call. I’m sure glad he did. While this fishing was not all that great, I do believe our guests had a great time out on the water.
Sixty two anglers woke up bright and early on November 19th, in eager anticipation of kayak fishing tournament number two in the Paddle-Fishing.com Tournament Series. “The Mystery Lure” has all anglers using the same exact lure or in this case “lures”. This year the Mystery Lure was sponsored by Culpirt Riptide. As each angler signed in, they were handed their lure bag, loaded with an amazing assortment of lures.
The 2011 IFA Kayak Fishing Tour finale is in the books. Kayak anglers from around the country battled it out in Chalmette Louisiana for a chance at being the 2011 IFA Kayak Fishing Tournament Champion. After two days of fishing Justin Carter emerged the victor with a combined total 105 inches winning him the championship and the 2011 Angler Of The Year.
