Well, unless you’ve been living under a rock, or haven’t visited YakAngler.com or KayakFishingRadio, you should have heard about the “Chokoloskee Boondoggle”.
On this past Mondays show I talked about flats etiquette and I was joined by a number of callers and chat room guest that weighed in on the topic. Capt. Mark Wright from Florida East Coast Fishing Adventures joined in on the conversation check him out captmarkwright.com
On this week’s Monday Night Kick-off on kayakfishingradio.com:
Jason Lindstrom from Flytooth Fly Lines stopped by to talk about their “line” of flylines and leaders designed with the cost conscious fly fisherman in mind. Check out their stuff at www.flytooth.net and tell ‘em Redfish Chuck sent you!!!!
Dee Kaminski called in to talk about the Coastal Redfish Tour and her victory in the first installment (Default win: She was the only one who showed). For more details on the tour and information on upcoming events visit www.coastalredfishtour.com.
I’ve never been good with words or saying I’m sorry. I’m not quite sure how to say this, so I’m just going to say it. Even though it’s hard for both of us, I’m sure that you’ll agree that it’s for the best.
It has been a while since I have posted on here so I figured I would put up a report from the other day... I planed a trip with one of the best kayak anglers on the planet And someone I am glad to call my friend Dee Kaminski from www.reelkayakfishing.com/ And a new friend and first time kayak angler Brittney Novalsky who is the owner of Florida Sportswomen.
Summer is here early this year and with that the fish are already getting into their summer time patterns, gone are the days of rolling out of bed at eight or nine o'clock and paddling out on a flat only to be greeted by schools of fish. Insted now you must try and beat the heat to find those same fish in the one to two foot of water you have been chasing all winter and spring.
They say 3:00 AM comes early but, they must have never fished at Mosquito Lagoon….
Chip woke me at 3:00 AM. We had loaded up all of our kayaks and gear the night before. I was sleeping in the clothes I was going to wear anyway, so all I had to do was roll out of bed, make a run to the bathroom, and brush my teeth.
I woke up around 5AM and looked outside and said to myself "self you should go fishing". So to the garage I go to gather a few things and I find I am out of D.O.A CAL baits so I grabbed a few packs of Bass Assassin Blurps and jumped in the truck and headed over to Action Bait and Tackle for some shrimps just to have a backup plan. Chatted with the owner for a minute then off I went on the long fifteen minute drive to the Mosquito Lagoon.
So saltwater assassin has for a long time been one of my favorite baits as many of you know.
This year they introduced a few new colors to their line up and over the course of the next few weeks I will be doing field testing on the different colors and writing reviews on them.
So we are only a few weeks away from Christmas and you may still need to find a gift for your Yakangler, here are a few items I have asked for that top my list of things to have for 2011. Rather then doing a normal list hear is my list in song form..
