As I’m waiting for the weather to get warmer and pulling out my chest hair in anticipation for the yakangler.com Presidents Day Camping/Fishing Boondoggle, I’m happy to announce that the Kayak Fishing Radio Network has put together a team for this years Kayak Wars competition.
I woke up around 5AM and looked outside and said to myself "self you should go fishing". So to the garage I go to gather a few things and I find I am out of D.O.A CAL baits so I grabbed a few packs of Bass Assassin Blurps and jumped in the truck and headed over to Action Bait and Tackle for some shrimps just to have a backup plan. Chatted with the owner for a minute then off I went on the long fifteen minute drive to the Mosquito Lagoon.
With the end of the year quickly approaching we here at YakAngler wanted to give a special thanks to our Pro Staff and Editors. These guys contribute so much to our weekly articles, blogs, fishing reports, and so much more.
As we say goodbye to July all we can do is hope that August brings us more rain. The water levels are down in all the Intercoastal waterways and with that it makes finding fish on the flats a little harder, so with that I am going to focus this report on finding fish in deeper water.
I met Charles Levi Jr. aka Redfish Chuck about six months ago on our website. In those six months he has become one of YakAngler.com most supportive and active members. Who is this part time Emotion Kayaks sponsored guide and YakAngler Regional Editor? I stole an hour of his time last week to find out a little more about Redfish Chuck.
Ok so summer is definitely here on the East Coast of Florida and with it comes the HEAT! Instead of rolling out of bed at five or six in the morning to go fish I am up around four and rather than a long sleeve cotton shirt I look for a cooler alternative like a Columbia style fishing shirt.
